Today we're rolling out a fresh batch of product updates. Highlights include a Power Off command for Pico and Meta (MHMS) devices, new settings that greatly improve the Meta Shared Mode experience, a handful of API endpoints and more. Read on for the rundown!

Power Off Command

You can now remotely shutdown Pico and Meta (MHMS) devices from the ManageXR Web Console. This new command is perfect for classrooms, events, or any deployment where it is not practical to manually power off each device. Send a Power Off command to shutdown one or a whole group of devices at once.

Minimum firmware versions: Meta v77 (enrolled via Meta Horizon managed services only), Pico PUI 5+

Enable Hand Tracking in Shared Mode (MHMS)

Deployments that use Meta devices in Shared Mode can now activate hand tracking by default. This allows users to complete the Session Intro steps entirely controller-free. Find the option to turn on hand tracking under Configuration > Device Experience > Meta Only > Session Intro Steps.

Minimum firmware version: Meta v77 (enrolled via Meta Horizon managed services only)

Use Shared Mode Without Wi-Fi (MHMS)

Meta devices can now begin sessions in Shared Mode without internet connection. Previously, Meta Shared Mode required a Wi-Fi connection at the start of every session, creating challenges for environments without reliable network access. No action is needed on your end to start benefiting from this change— ManageXR supports using Meta Shared Mode devices without wi-fi by default. There will soon be a configuration setting to toggle permission to use devices without internet, if you prefer to require a wi-fi connection.

Minimum firmware version: Meta v77 (enrolled via Meta Horizon managed services only)

Legacy Meta devices have always and will continue to support use without internet.

Disable Mac Address Randomization

ManageXR now lets you turn off MAC address randomization on your devices. This is essential for educational and enterprise networks that rely on fixed MAC addresses for filtering, authentication, or RADIUS server access. You can find the new setting in Library > Wi-Fi Networks as a checkbox on each network.

New Apps Out of Date Filter

Monitoring app installation status just got easier—use the new "Apps Out of Date" filter to quickly identify any devices with missing apps or outdated versions. If any app on a device is not fully up to date with its configuration, that device will appear in the filter results.

New API Endpoints

We've added even more endpoints to the ManageXR API. Now you can automatically manage files and wi-fi networks, end to end. Use the new create wi-fi network endpoint to allow your users to enter their wi-fi network credentials on your web app. Deploying Unity addressables or other assets via files on ManageXR? Use our API to retrieve files from your library, edit bundled files with app versions, and add files to configurations.
