Custom 3D environments, WPA3 Wi-Fi, network testing tool, Shared Mode improvements and more
We're back with more product updates for you! This week’s updates unlock powerful new tools. Transform your VR home screen with custom 3D environments and new menu options, deploy WPA3 wi-fi and troubleshoot enterprise networks with a handy new tool, preserve app data in Meta Shared Mode, bulk enroll Meta devices, and more. Let’s dive in!
Custom 3D Environments
You can now create and use your own custom 3D environments as the backdrop for your in-headset experience. This allows you to fully customize the user experience in your VR home screen. Our 3D Environment SDK makes it fast and simple to convert an existing Unity scene into the correct format for ManageXR. Bring your immersive vision to life with just a few steps.
Auto-Center Menu
Turn on Auto-Center Menu to automatically center the VR home screen menu in the user’s field of view. As the user moves their head, the menu and your applications remain front and center. This ensures a consistent and intuitive entry point into your content.
WPA3 Wi-Fi Support
ManageXR now supports WPA3, the most advanced WiFi security protocol available. WPA3 enhances device and network protection, offering stronger safeguards compared to WPA2. Aside from having the correct router and network infra, to use WPA3, your devices must be running Android 10 or later. You can verify your device’s Android version in the Device Information section on ManageXR.
Network Connectivity Test
Enterprise network setup for your XR devices just got easier. Secure networks with firewalls and filtering systems often unintentionally block endpoints required by ManageXR and device manufacturers. Blocked endpoints can lead to connection problems and device enrollment failures—and until now, they've been hard to proactively diagnose. The new Network Connectivity Test helps you catch blocked endpoints early. Run the test from the same network your devices will use, and work with your network admin to unblock any flagged endpoints.

Do Not Wipe App Data (MHMS Shared Mode)
Previously, Meta required all local data to be erased between sessions when using Shared Mode. We’ve collaborated with Meta to introduce the ability to preserve app data instead. On ManageXR, app data is no longer cleared by default in Shared Mode. This means data like your app login info and local modules won’t be wiped anymore between sessions. Soon, you will also be able to choose which apps should or should not wipe their data.
Meta Bulk Enrollment
You can now bulk enroll Meta devices into ManageXR using the Meta Device Setup App. This tool allows you to bypass most of the in-headset setup steps and enroll multiple devices at once. Note, to complete enrollment, you must use the Meta Device Setup App together with the ManageXR Device Setup Tool. For complete instructions, visit the guide below.

New Home Screen Layout Option
We released a new VR home screen layout option to make navigating extensive content libraries a breeze. This new layout option lets you place content categories in a left sidebar, rather than showing them in a horizontal scroll across the top of the screen. The categories sidebar offers a more scalable, organized browsing experience.
